Notes about Learning Resources, ELL, and French Immersion

  • Our Learning Resources department is adapting to best serve students with the greatest needs. Most students who require support with their learning will access their subject-specific teacher during the four Flexible Instructional Time blocks. Only students with significant needs will be allocated a separate block in the Tupper Learning Centre (TLC) block.
  • ELL students will be scheduled based on a writing sample provided by the grade 7 teacher and the recommendations of classroom and ELL teachers who have supported ELL students.
  • Grade 8 students are generally placed in Grade 8 French. However, any students who are currently in French Immersion or in Intensive French will be recommended to enroll in a higher level of French. The Tupper Modern Languages department will continue to monitor student skills in September 2024 to place all grade 8 students at an appropriate level.

Please continue to check the Tupper school website for updated information on Grade 8!
